Episode 6- KnitScenesters
Thanks for joining us for Episode 6! Please feel free to leave us a comment or email us with any suggestions! 🙂
On Our Needles/Bobbins/Loom:
Thank you guys so much for joining us on the knitalong! We feel like we might have jumped the gun a bit… we might not have the listenership yet or might have picked the wrong time of the year to get a lot of participants… regardless, we had fun and hope those that participated did too! We plan to do more knitalongs/contests in the future, and if you have any ideas for either or want to be a podcast sponsor/prize donator, please contact us on Ravelry or email us at email@example.com!
D: Sockhead Hat, Cake Socks, Southern Lights Hat (Tyrannosaurus Knits BFL in Glacier), When Knits Go Bad: Neopolitan Socks, lots of handspun (Petroglyph Superfine Merino, Dust In The Wind Polwarth, Global BFL)
We talk about finishitupitis, and reference this post from the Yarn Harlot.
New In The Queue:
Discussion: KnitScene Winter/Spring 2011:
- it is now going to be published 4 times a year- yeaaa!
- has excellent patterns that fit a lot of different body types
- on-trend sweaters and accessories while still retaining a classic look (you can wear them again next year without looking really dated- unlike some Vogue and Interweave patterns)
- how-to articles are always in-depth and provide a great future resource
- uses a variety of price points of yarn so it’s accessible to knitters of all financial backgrounds
- good product and book reviews
In short, we’d subscribe to this in a heartbeat!!!
What We Queued From KnitScene:
If I Was A Rich Girl:
D: cross stitch sampler pattern from the Steotch Etsy store
Stitches South in Atlanta GA- April 14-17 (we are not going this year, but are hoping to go next year!)
Middle Tennessee Fiber Arts Festival in Dickson TN- May 27-28 (we will be there May 28)
If you are also coming to either of the events that we’re going to, please let us know on Ravelry or via email so we can meet up with you!
A Small Challenge:
Since February is known as the “Love Month”, we encourage you to focus your energies not just on romantic love, but on showing love to those around you and to your community at large. Knitting for charity, donating to a worthy cause, or even just opening the door for someone or helping someone carry groceries is a good way to do this. Be kinder to the world, because it really does come back to you in many positive ways! We’d love to hear about things that you do that follow along these lines!
A Huge Thank You:
We appreciate your kind reviews and star ratings! It helps us pop up in searches, and encourages others to give us a listen! If you don’t want to leave a written review, even a star rating is much appreciated. Also, we’re going to be taking the podcast down temporarily so we can put up a picture and a description of the podcast, and change our designation into the right category. If you try to access it and it’s not up, that’s why. Thanks for your understanding and support!
