Episode 10: Dyeing Chiseled Cheekbones
Welcome to episode 10… we finally hit double digits! 🙂 As always, let us know if we missed anything, and thanks for listening!
We talk about Flash Your Stash Day (April 1), and how it helps Brittany to keep track of her progress in knitting down her stash. Dana didn’t participate this year, because she just reorganized her stash and didn’t want to take it all out again. Dana mentions Knit One Below by Elise Duvekot.
On Our Needles/Bobbins:
Dana: Chandra, Nelkin Mystery KAL, Highland Scarf, Angry Birds Goldfinch (yellow bird) (mentions all of the Angry Birds patterns) bobbins: her own batts (hooray!!), Corgi Hill Farms Shimmer Batts in Swiss Chard
Cristy (turtlegirl76 on Ravelry) is giving our listeners a special discount on her Breaking Hearts Socks pattern! Enter code ONEMOREROW at Ravelry checkout to save $1 on the pattern through the end of 2011!
The Knitalong is here in the Socks that Rawk group if you care to join in the fun.

If I Was A Rich Girl:
Discussion: What we knit in the warmer months…
Brittany says that socks are her go-to project, usually, but she’s wanting to do a cotton tee this summer (Buttercup and Vesper by Heidi Kirrmaier aka PipiBird on Ravelry). She also doesn’t mind doing a sweater, as long as it’s in pieces…but she doesn’t like doing those very often. She mentions Erin.Lane organizers and our friend Lindsey (aka followingaslan on Ravelry). She also mentions Glaciar del Cielo yarn.
Dana knits socks and shawls, mainly. She also tries to get a jump on her holiday gift knitting starting in the middle of summer so she doesn’t feel so rushed and can be a bit more selfish with her knitting time in the winter. She rarely knits with pure cotton because it hurts her hands, but loves silk/cotton and wool/cotton blends. Some favorites are Rowan Summer Tweed and Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool (Elsebeth Lavold Silky Tweed is discontinued- sorry!!). She also loves Plymouth Sockotta (sadly discontinued) but will knit wool socks during any time of the year- she loves them! (the length of the leg may change though) She mentions the Lucia Tee and the Lotus Blossom Tank (knit out of Queensland Collection Hyacinth).
